Folded/Collar Bind-Off

A folded bind-off creates a thick, polished, and elastic neckline by knitting a collar twice the height you want, folding it inward then securing your stitches to the base of the neckline. 

Work your pattern (most commonly ribbing), fold it inwards then knit the first stitch on the needle together with the next stitch from the cast-on edge, repeating around to bind off.

Note:

Use a needle at least 1 size bigger when binding-off to ensure your collar doesn’t end up too tight.
