hems or\u00a0cuffs;\u00a0it creates loos columns making a bumpy texture and is\u00a0stretchier\u00a0than stockinette. Ribbing is normally done as 1&#215;1 -1 knit, 1 purl or 2&#215;2- 2 knit, 2\u00a0purl\u00a0as they are considered the\u00a0stretchiest. This makes your knit columns more defined while your purl stitches\u00a0remain\u00a0loose and floaty. For double twisted rib you still knit through the back loop, but you also purl through the back loop.
